Film provides movie fanatics with an easy entertainment option and one that can be enjoyed by all ages. There’s something so much more appealing about catching a big screen hit at the cinema, it certainly beats waiting for the latest film releases to take to the TV! For one, the screen size outweighs the average homeowner’s TV by ten times and the exceptional surround sound makes for a movie to remember. Along with these two assets, having popcorn, ice cream and nachos at your disposal becomes a welcome treat.
A variety of today’s cinemas are choosing to step up their game and many film releases are now being offered in three-dimensional and HD screenings. Instead of watching an action-packed movie on a standard screen, viewers are now able to step inside the screen. When an explosion occurs, the audience will feel the bang and as the haste of a high-speed car chase picks up, many will feel as if they are in the onscreen car.
There are certain releases that are quite enjoyable on standard screen, however, when it comes to an action-packed and high-speed movie then 3D screening is a must. Take After Earth as an example. As Will Smith and his son meet the world’s end, they embark on an adventure through an abandoned planet. The creatures and scenery they meet along the way truly benefit from today’s exceptional screening technology. This sci-fi fantasy is one of many that has taken a new world to the big screen and many may be wondering just what’s in store for the planet in many years to come.
Another film that is recommended in 3D is Fast and Furious 6 and yes you may be thinking ‘is there really room for another one?’ Despite never straying too far from their original formula, the Fast and the Furious sequels are always an easy watch. Anyone that enjoys a fast pace, high-action movie will have no qualms about feasting their eyes on this one and 3D reactions just make it that little more real. Instead of watching the cars zoom past at near 200mph, viewers are able to experience the chase from the sidelines.
Avatar is perhaps one of the most memorable 3D screenings and the all-around visionary James Cameron was one of the first writers and directors to put this technology into motion. Cameron’s sense of stereotypical design certainly complements this screening option which entices viewers to enter the depths of a sci-fi world.
